We are encountering a significant challenge within our CRM system when managing contacts from Instagram Direct Messages (DMs). Currently, the system does not capture Instagram IDs in workflows, resulting in duplicate contact entries for the same individual. Problem Statement: When a contact already exists in our CRM and sends a DM via Instagram, the system fails to recognize the existing contact and creates a new, duplicate entry. This occurs because there is no mechanism to use the Instagram ID within the CRM workflows to match the contact details automatically. Impact: This limitation complicates our contact management, especially during Instagram campaigns involving forms sent to users. The lack of integration leads to duplicated contacts, making it impossible to efficiently merge new Instagram-generated contacts with existing entries. Consequently, this hampers our ability to maintain a clean, organized database and impacts our campaign effectiveness. Proposed Solution: We urge the development team to introduce a feature allowing the integration of Instagram IDs into the CRM workflows. This feature would enable the system to automatically recognize and merge incoming DM contacts with existing CRM entries based on Instagram IDs.
