Allow Math Operation for Lead Value

Jabez Lim
This is for businesses with recurring customers, right now clients have to add the lead value manually to record how much each lead has spent, e.g For barbershops, let's say the lead value is $30, if that same customer comes back, we have to manually add another $30 to increase the lead value to a total of $60. If we allow math operations on lead value, each time a customer returns, the lead value can update automatically

Update Custom Value with math operation

This is very important.
I thougt we can update both custom value and and custom fields using math operations but you can only use custom field with math operation in workfow.
This is going to solve a lot of problem and minimize using 3rd party integration.
In this screenshot you can only update standar field and custom field. Custom value is not available. https://www.loom.com/i/5d4e3dafa2ac4d19ae28066ff698aef3

Would be cool to be able to compare the numerical value stored in a custom field or custom value. For example if custom value A is greater than custom value B then do X

Please add the ability to do basic math with custom fields.

Having the ability to do basic math will make it easier for generating invoices and other calculations. Example wholesaleprice=retailprice/2. I would also like to have the ability to have date calculations where you say date=date+30 days for example.

You can currently do this with a Workflow by having a couple Custom Fields at the Contact level. Then update the Lead Value with the result of your calculations. But that work around is cumbersome.

Adam McInnes can show you how to do the workaround. But we shouldn't need the workaround.

My use case for this is to create an opportunity value based on a math operation that comes from a number submitted in a form. IE number of widgets * value = opportunity value. Seems like right now I would need to save this value to the contact first and then update the opportunity to have the value that was saved to the contact.

John Hyla, For now you are right. Several intermediate steps required using various Custom Fields in the Contact record.
You also want the Custom Value at the account level to make this work.

Custom Fields In opportunities should work the same as contacts for math, dates, etc

Right now the only way I can figure out how to get a number/dollar field into an opportunity is to use the API. That's a PITA. That means I use text fields for everything in opportunities right now. Then if I need to update an opportunity value which is based on price * qty. I have to use a webhook to update a contact with the opportunity qty and price, do the math and then write them back to the opportunity.
This whole process should be stream lined to allow updating referenced opportunity's (opportunity trigger) custom fields the same as contacts. For example selecting the opportunity field in the math action
