Update Custom Value with math operation
complete

This is very important.
I thougt we can update both custom value and and custom fields using math operations but you can only use custom field with math operation in workfow.
This is going to solve a lot of problem and minimize using 3rd party integration.
In this screenshot you can only update standar field and custom field. Custom value is not available. https://www.loom.com/i/5d4e3dafa2ac4d19ae28066ff698aef3

Math Operation to Update Opportunity Value

Currently we cannot update an opportunity value with a math field. For example if one of our fields was purchase price and we wanted to calculate realtor commission for the opportunity we'd have to create separate field to store the value and then update the opportunity value to match that field. It'd be easier if we could just update the opportunity right from the math step.

This has been resolve. You can now use custom value in math operations

Norman Elevencione I'd like to know how, the option still isn't appearing for me?

Norman Elevencione, you are correct but the function is not complete. There is a difference between math with a number and math on that number. We want the math function to update the Custom Value.

I use 2 steps for this
Update custom value using any math operation then use the result to update a custom field.
Then next step is to update custom value with the updated custom field.

Norman Elevencione, yep. That is the workaround.
A workaround is not a competed function. It is a temporary stop-gap while awaiting the actual function. As you noted in the original request, we "can only use custom field with math operation in workfow." We cannot update the Custom Value.

I need this for a lead counting system. We have a subaccount that distributes leads to the rest of our sub accounts. The two step custom field -> custom value way of doing this is just too clunky. Another piece of this is that i have to put a drip action in there to make sure it counts correctly when doing 100s of leads at a time.

OMG i need this - my workaround has been to make custom fields too but thats not correct because field is for person - value is for the business

Same dynamic field concept for the following as well...

In this video, starting at 6:20, Jithin Sujala describes exactly how to do the two-step work around using a dummy Custom Field.
But why should we need to do this work around?
Prasoon Dadhich, please review. Is there a technical reason we need to do this as two steps instead of as a direct math operation?
