Enable Voice AI to make warm transfers.

The AI would stay on the line to announce the caller and give the called party the option to take the call or reject it. Ideally a rejected caller could leave a message instead.

This feels like a broader “transfer-state awareness” gap rather than just a missing transfer feature.
Right now Voice AI can initiate transfers, but it loses conversational ownership once the transfer happens. That creates several related problems across all these feature requests:
* No AI-to-AI handoff
* No warm transfer flow
* No transfer outcome awareness
* No fallback handling
* No voicemail detection/recovery
* No way for AI to reclaim the caller after a failed transfer
* No continuity/context preservation between agents
The biggest operational issue is what happens AFTER the transfer attempt fails.
Today the caller often:
* hits voicemail
* gets dead air
* gets disconnected
* or loses the conversation entirely
A proper solution would let Voice AI maintain transfer-state awareness so calls can branch based on outcome:
* answered
* rejected
* busy
* timeout
* voicemail detected
* after-hours unavailable
Then AI could:
* return to the caller
* take a message
* schedule a callback
* transfer to another AI/specialist
* continue the conversation naturally
This would effectively enable true receptionist-style behavior instead of “fire-and-forget” transfers.
A lot of these separate requests seem like different versions of the same missing call orchestration layer and should probably be consolidated under this primary warm transfer request:

Related requests describing the same core issue:

Voice AI Warm Transfer
Voice AI fallback after unanswered IVR transfer
AI Phone Transfer and Transfer Back
These all appear to point toward the same missing capability:
stateful transfer orchestration + failed transfer recovery.

Yes, I absolutely agree. See: https://ideas.gohighlevel.com/voice-ai/p/call-ahead-before-transferring-the-call

or simply if there is no answer it returns back to voice ai where they can grab the message details (like a traditional phone transfer)
