Add Call Disposition to ALL Calls, Not Just in the Power Dialer

We would love to be able to trigger workflow actions and track our call stats in a better way. Currently, we can only get a disposition if we add contacts to the power dialer via a "manual call" action. But a majority of the time, we are working through our contacts in our pipelines based on what stage they are in.
It would be fantastic if we could call the contact from either the Opportunities view (Pipelines), or from the full Contact Details window. Right now, if we hit the call button, whether the call is answered, not answered, went to VM, etc., it just shows a completed call. That doesn't help us to do anything with the lead, and just leads to more manual actions versus being able to personalize the lead flow/experience based on every interaction we do, or don't, have.
For reference, we are an insurance agency. We get leads from various sources (Social Media, Lead Vendors, Organic, Referrals, etc.). So it is very difficult to try and make sure that every lead source and every way that they come to us is either automatically added to a Manual Call action, or to have to manually add them to a Manual Call action in order to get them into the dialer and be able to have a disposition.
