FORMS - Allow custom values to be updated with forms

Currently, there seems to be 2 ways to update custom values, go to settings > custom values and "hack away" or build a form somewhere else and use Zapier/Make to update custom values through the API. I would like to suggest that GHL add the custom values to the form editor to allow us to create a form that will allow us to edit custom values in a slightly more controlled way. So allow a form created in an account to update the custom values for that account, that is my ask.

Please allow Custom Values for Colors like we can in page builder. Need to match Button's based on Page but only accepts hex. Can't use CV's in CSS either.

This is already a thing. In workflows, there is an option to "update custom value". You just need to trigger the workflow when the form is completed then add that step, select the field and done.
It is, however, frustrating that you also need a custom field to be added to the contact in order to do this, rather than it being able to directly link the CV to the form field.
No need for Zapier / Make or APIs though.

Nathan Admin: It is possible the way you described it but if we want to use the custom values as "settings values" it will look very weird on the contact.

I have a form with custom values (in this case it's radio button to select sales reps for a client) they put on a new sales person and I find it's not possible to update the custom fields in the form.
The only way is to detele the entire custom field and create a new one which breaks all the worksflows that in turn use the custom field
A simple thing like trying to add one name to a form turns into 3 hours of work (which I have to do outside work hours as it can't be done while they are using it live during business hours)

AWM Health: Very much agreed! Having to delete a Custom Field to "edit" it causes many undesired repercussions.
Would be very beneficial to have an "edit" option for custom fields.

This is exactly what I need. When a user fills out a form, we have added a custom field to the form with multiple options for them to choose. This gets saved when the form is sent in but there is no way to then update the Customer's contact with the value they selected in the form. I haven't even been able to find a work around. Currently you have to go into the contact, go to activity, click on the form to find out what the value was and then manually add it to the contacts custom field. If the form can push the value selected directly into the contact's info page, that would be perfect. Hope this picks up steam but its been here for a while now.

I found a video that had a link you can add to the end of the URL so the answers end up added to their contact. Here is what I saved-
Here's the custom code you need to pre-fill forms and surveys with GoHighLevel using URL parameters and Trigger Links:
?first_name={{contact.first_name}}&email={{contact.email}}&phone={{contact.phone}}&last_name={{contact.last_name}}&contact_id={{contact.id}}
Just add that at the end of the URL as shown in the video.
It can be customized using whatever custom fields are needed
I can't seem to find the video again but I did do a test and it worked. If I find the video I will post the url.

There are a couple of third party solutions for this so if they can do it it should be easy enough for a native integration for this, hope it gets done soon

Custom Values need to be available to be used on a Form (and Survey).
Or at the very least, Custom Fields need to be able to display their stored values (and/or pre-filled values) on a sales funnel page NOT just in the CRM via SMS or email.
I'm shocked that both of these features were not implemented when either were created as it just seems so logical for them to applied in these manners.
This idea is almost 1 year old. :-(
I don't believe that this would take all that long to change/update.
Do you think we can get this done this month? ;-)

This would also be nice in Surveys especially if you have a lot of custom values that need to be updated or you can easily group custom values such as business information / website information / branding / etc. that would be so much cleaner in a survey format rather than several forms

Cristopher Retamoso: Agreed, but that means you always have to have some custom field (attached to a contact) in order to have the form field to be able to fill it in and then have to create a workflow to update the custom value. Much cleaner to just allow custom values in forms.
