Enable 2-way email sync using IMAP/POP3/SMTP

Allow sync to email services besides Gmail and Outlook. Many businesses use email providers other than those two, so this seems pretty important.

Well, first, they could be more clear on these restrictions. Just say it, instead of me having to search and to find out.
Two, GHL has an integration with Google email. So, they have chosen for the easiest route and, quite frankly, less professional customers. No professional customer will ever use Google email.
Google email is restricted on the amount of emails, very bad security, very bad deliverability, and no control.
You cannot let depend your business activity to Google.
Three, if you configure a subdomain to link it to the LeadConnector smtp server, then people can reply.
The thing is here that the IP adress of LeadConnector is registered as a spammer. The 20th of January 2025, it was used to insert a tinba trojan horse. This means that I can configure all domains in my DNS I want, it is blocked anyway due to that.
Moreover, only replying means that the original email has to come from GHL. Which that someone replying to my personal email, or my website, will not arrive in GHL.
Therefore, you can say GHL is focused on marketing, which is true, but focussing on marketing should entail reading emails.
The end result is that I have to do my LinkedIn campaigns in LinkedIn, my funnels in my django website, my email campaigns in Apollo. What am I using GoHighLevel for?
The idea was that I would centralize all of my communication in GoHighlevel, but that is not possible.
Hence, when I say that I will have to review my subscription, I'm genuine. I really wonder how GHL can still be useful to me.

Totally agree on that Hans and I appreciate you sharing your insights. I apologize for the lack of functionality on our end but you may definitely share this to our ideas board so it will be considered on their next release.
Yes, it's not that I do not have an email reader. I read my emails for the past twenty years. I could even program an email reader since I am a software engineer. I have created an account marketing@aiboosters.co.uk, and so, everyone who replies on an email, will reply to that address, and then GoHighLevel can take those emails into account. As hot leads in its pipeline, in the conversations, and in the statistics. But if it can't read email...

This is must for CRM. Each agent should communicate with their own (existing) email.

So I just picked up a client who is hosted on Wordpress email or Titan. I am trying to setup Her custom sending domain to work with the CRM and conversations. However In setting up the SMTP I realized that the Titan Mail uses separate servers to send and receive. Incoming IMAP outgoing SMTP. So I can send out email from this SMTP but there is nothing I can do with the reply. This is a BIG Problem IMO. Has anyone found a workaround or can help me get this setup. I have setup Roundcube with no problem and it is pretty responsive. Thanks.

Jared Kirkpatrick there is no good solution for this. I've tried cataloguing the feature requests on this before to show that it is amongst one of the highest feature requests. I've tried explaining how Highlevel is not a real CRM without this. I've tried spamming them on their Youtube account. Nothing has worked. Good luck.

Jared Kirkpatrick, Matthew is right. I've just come to the same conclusion with GHL Support. There is no way to introduce IMAP/POP3 credentials. It can read Gmail (really, what professional needs that?), and further, it allows to create a subdomain on your domain and connect the smtp server of GHL (which is mailgun apparently) to your domain. This means you do not use your own servers, but connect the already existing servers to your domain by inserting the right credentials in your DNS.
This has many drawbacks: it's difficult to get access to the DNS server of your customer. Moreover, the IP address of the GHL mail server is registered on spamhouse and others as a very bad server. It has been used last on the 20th of jan 2025 to spread a tinba trojan horse, and therefore, it is blocked by most of the spamcheckers, and also my DNS provider.
I see no other solution than to go and shop elsewhere, on more professional products.

smtp can't sync inward, so why doesn't Outlook use oath on the GHL side?
It would save so many connection headaches and errors!

IMAP support would be huge. The ability to be able to add essentially any existing email into the system to import and track conversations is sorely needed. A lot of clients complain because they are checking conversations for everything that goes through the system, but are still having to use their other email provider for everything else.
Along these lines, it would also be even better if we had a Do Not Import function in the Conversations tab so we could click an email and say we do not want to import emails from these email addresses.
