Enable 2-way email sync using IMAP/POP3/SMTP
J
Jay Gerring
Allow sync to email services besides Gmail and Outlook. Many businesses use email providers other than those two, so this seems pretty important.

I found a solution to it. You could automate your incoming email with IMAP built within Zapier and that can help you track incoming emails and also automate them.
You can reach out to me at lukeagents@gmail.com
To show you how this can be automated
So by main time GHL is solving this you can get it Live and then when GHL have the option to track Incoming Emails you can then switch over

DEV TEAM: please add IMAP functionality. I have used CRM’s like yours for three decades and EVERYONE of them can add an IMAP/POP account including all modern apps – Bitrix, Notion, Zoho, whatever.
This is a crazy oversight and makes for expensive mail add-ons from Gmail and Outlook that bump up per seat costs where a customer may have their own email server (or third party mail services) for their own company. Now I have to tell such a customer to cancel their server and move over to GHL for hundreds of USD$ over and above GHL. I would not do it!

Two-way email sync is currently extremely inconsistent in GoHighLevel. Emails sometimes sync, sometimes don’t, and there is no reliability when using third-party email clients such as Mac Mail or Outlook — even when the email is managed through Gmail. This makes the feature effectively unusable for real-world business workflows.
This isn’t just a minor inconvenience — this is foundational CRM functionality. It’s honestly surprising that in 2025, and in a platform as powerful as GHL, true two-way email sync is not available. This is basic CRM capability that has existed since the early 2000s, and it is one of the most consistent pieces of feedback being raised by users across the community. I can see that many other agencies and businesses have been reporting the same issue.
Because of this gap, teams are forced to operate across multiple systems just to track conversations, which defeats the purpose of using GHL as an all-in-one platform. It also creates risk, as email threads are easily missed and no complete communication history is captured in the contact timeline.
Why this matters:
Teams need to send and receive emails from Mac Mail, Outlook, Gmail, or GHL — and know everything will sync into the CRM.
Managers need reliable communication logs for staff activity.
Businesses rely on accurate histories to provide customer service, handle disputes, and coordinate across departments.
Multi-channel communication is one of GHL’s biggest selling points — but without this, it’s incomplete.
What’s needed:
A robust, fully functional two-way email sync that:
Works every time, not randomly
Syncs all emails regardless of which app they’re sent or received in
Integrates properly with Mac Mail, Outlook, Gmail, and other common clients
Automatically stores full conversation history in the CRM timeline
Supports the multi-channel communication experience GHL advertises
This feature is not optional for a CRM — it’s essential. It’s one of the core pieces that agencies and businesses depend on. Adding a reliable version of two-way sync would solve a major pain point felt by a huge portion of the GHL community and dramatically improve the CRM's real-world usability.

This is an amazing idea! We have 60+ clients in our agency and the majority of them use IMAP/SMTP. Syncing that with GHL would make their business more organized. Please guys, add that feature as soon as possible. It is crucial for our agency.
