Right now there's only the option to send an internal notification to assigned user. It would be helpful to send internal notification/email/sms to Assigned User & Followers.

I like the followers function but there needs to be notifications. The way the assigned user for instance is notified if a prospect or client responds to a text or email is great because it has a direct link to the contacts conversation.
However without being able to add multiple assigned users there is no way to notify 2 people if they respond. You can do this through automation but there is no way to have the conversation link in the internal notification email/sms.
This really becomes an issue when there are a intake person and a sales person on the same contact/opportunity, or when a sales rep goes on vacation and their clients communication needs to be monitored in case of any emergencies.
This seems like a fairly basic feature that alot of other CRM's have.

I have implemented a few different weird workarounds for this and it’s wildly annoying (and quite surprising) this is not a feature yet. I am enthusiastically adding my upvote for this.

Yes please develople this. We need to have the owner of a contact and any followers get notified of communication form the contact.

What is the point of even having followers if they cannot get notifications for client messages? this creates a big problem and many client messages go unanswered because of this. PLEASE high level implement this as soon as possible.

Yes, assigning Followers and Additional Contacts to an Opportunity without including the option for a Workflow action to send email &/o SMS to those people is only half an idea.
The reason we want Followers (additional team members) assigned to the Opportunity is so we can inform those people of activity along the way.
The reason we want Additional Contacts assigned to the Opportunity is so we can include those people in the decision-making process.
A field for those email addresses/names without the ability to send an email to them is just raw data.
