It would be awesome if there was a way to have the ability to have an internal notification if a phone number or email address matches in the contact field. This would allow us to find duplicate contacts quicker and give us the option to merge. I find that, at times, duplicates will slip through and get multiple messages sent to the same phone number while at different stages in the pipeline.

Yes. It lets us dedupe by email and phone but not by custom field which is a huge problem for repeat clients with multiple opportunities. It makes it impossible to automate it without either creating tons of copies or never letting the same client have more than one separate deal.

Oh, man, yeah. Use case example- “patient ID” when working with medical software.
Defile through workflow would be a solution (or nice addition) as well.
