The workflow trigger is if the 'abc' tag was removed.

We need this feature asap... For example: I have so many tags, some may have a typo ( or - vs no -) we didn't notice and now we want to correct it. But in the past in order to fix it we basically have to create a new tag (with correct spelling). Then add it to all in the incorrect tags smart list. Then we have to go to settings and delete the incorrect tag. If you straight edit/rename the existing tag in settings it gets removed from automations and I think even from the contact too - so frustrating! And since I have no clue all the automations that add that tag it's harder to track down all the places to add it back once we fixed the typo.

Yeah, we're running into this and it's a big issue. Please address this as soon as you can. Thanks!

Please get this addressed ASAP! Since renaming a tag in settings doesn't affect it's use as a "Trigger" in workflows, but does detach it from "Add/Remove Tag" in the workflow I'm assuming it has to be a bug that could easily be addressed and not a feature.

Yep - if you rename a tag, it completely removes it from all workflows. It DOES NOT just update the name of the tag to the new name. It removes the tag entirely.

Rename/Edit Tags + Dynamically Update Tags across the System

Every user, I am sure, has their own method for tagging. However, if we rename a tag I. The tag manager, then it removes the tag everywhere it was previously used in the system. We have to then manually re-add/update everywhere that tag was used. We need to be able to edit a tag and have it dynamically update any previously tagged item to reflect the renamed/edited tag across the system.

Rather sad this is 'under review' since Oct 2022.
https://ideas.gohighlevel.com/automations/p/renameedit-tags-dynamically-update-tags-across-the-system issue could be merged with this.
Basically, you can't rename tags unless you have bucket load of time to go and fix your broken tag actions in automations as well as the OPs issue.
This is a serious bug, not a feature request. Hopefully sorted soon?

I'm really surprised this is not upvoted. I wonder if users don't even know this happens. It's really a bug, not a feature request.
Current behaviour example:
- add tag '123' to contact in an automation.
- later, decide to rename tag '123' to '1234' and re-name it from settings.
- go back to the automation and there is no longer any tag being added in the action.
Expected behaviour:
- go back to the automation and see that it is now adding tag '1234' to the contact.
Current behaviour is clearly a recipe for broken automations and configurations.
Please fix urgently.
Thanks.

Andy C: Most probably aren't even aware it happens. Rename a tag and you lose it everywhere.
