Keith Besherse, Shaun Clark misrepresented what inbound DND does. Perhaps it was a mistake, perhaps he doesn't actually understand the reality of the flag, or perhaps he was trying to mislead. I don't think he was trying to mislead but he is wrong. Inbound DND does not affect email.
I've had conversations with the dev team and they've confirmed this for, even after weeks of gaslighting trying to insist that it was otherwise. You can test this for yourself. Inbound DND does not block inbound email. Period.
In fact if you look at any contact, there is no option to block inbound email. The only inbound option is "Inbound Calls and SMS."
If we want to give him the benefit of the doubt, we can assume that what he probably meant to say was "the inbound DND filter in workflows applies to all channels that inbound DND flag applies to."
There is an oddity: If you "DND All channels" it filters inbound emails in the desktop app but not the mobile app.

JLW Online, thank you. I agree. I do not assume that Shaun Clark intended to mislead. That is why I have insisted on getting a definitive test. I assume he misspoke. I also assume the developers intended well when they wrote the UI; but the way it is now creates a false expectation. Even the message you were sent on 30 Jan implies something that isn't accurate (DND outbound email doesn't affect inbound email in any way). JLW Online Keith Besherse this is a miscommunication, it is currently live for Calls and SMS only. For Email the Conversation team will be working on it and once implemented there we will be adding the same in Workflows.
We will un-merge the ideas. Sorry for the confusion.

Inbound Spams calls have been a nightmare for all my clients and my own agency account. Google My business SCAM calls are the king for over 4 years now. Even on my Agency, 80% of all montlhy inbound calls are coming from this GMB Scam... It hurts even more when my clienrs have to pay for that inbound call and/or phone recording storage. Altough we can't control the Spam inbound calls, we should be able to at least identify, and prevent that number to incur another charge to our clients, and the best way to do that now is to enable DND Inbound on the Automations. Please, please, please make it work! Thank you!

We had a bunch of our leads coming in via API all get flagged with this DND Inbound flag, and I really thought my automation to "If remove_inbound_flag tag" was added I could bulk fix this. Sadly NOT :( Only works with the normal outgoing DND flags. Yes, I agree, this needs to be flaggable/unflaggable via automation. The rest is there.
