ADA Compliance

The font color on the website chat is not ADA compliant (Americans with Disabilities Act) due to contrast of the colors. It is very difficult to see and there is no option to change the font color. This makes your chat feature non compliant and subjects anyone using it to potential lawsuit. Please give an option to change the font colors within the chat widget.

adding overlays like Accessibe/Userway/Equally, and others doesn't make you compliant nor does it protect your clients from lawsuits. you need to actually have a semantically correct built site and follow your local Accessibility guidelines outlined (USA, is different from Canada, is different from EU, etc.). I challenge everyone to think about how a blind user or a user without the ability to use a mouse is going to resort to interacting with your site. They have their own tools, so we need to be compatible with THEIR tools, like screen readers and keyboard navigations. Seriously, how is a blind user supposed to find that tiny button, open that widget and choose the profile if they have compromised sight? It's on us to build with compliance guidelines, not GHL to build it for us. Sure GHL can provide templates that are compliant or features to help us make designs compliant but its on us to implement them correctly.

Also, ADA is compliance for USA, I think for the rest of the world it is also needed but under other names like in Europe: The European Accessibility Act... so each jurisdiction has requirements for it.

Shaun Clark this is a legal requirement that clients are asking about. Is there an ETA on this?
S

Chase Crawford I’m not let me ask but in the mean time there are a ton of add ons that do this

Shaun Clark thanks for the response! The add-ons wouldn't make the HL chat widget compliant though from my understanding.

Chase Crawford what Ada compliance do we need for a chat widget I don’t really understand the requirements.

Shaun Clark Leonard posted a screenshot at the top of this thread showing that some of the fonts in the chat widget are not ADA compliant. They need more contrast and can be difficult to read.
Here are the ADA guidelines (https://www.w3.org/TR/2006/WD-WCAG20-20060427/appendixB.html). The requirements are broken down into categories, my understanding is that any website is legally required to at least meat the first level of compliance for each category.
Thanks for your help!

ADA Compliancy is a law. We need to be able to update our clients websites to avoid a potential lawsuit. Here is the the link: https://www.ada.gov/resources/web-guidance/
