Make WhatsApp Audio Message URL Available in Workflow Variable

It would be extremely helpful if the URL of an audio message sent by a client via WhatsApp could be made available as a variable within the workflow. This functionality is essential for enabling automatic audio retrieval and transcription in our integration process.

Receiving WhatsApp Voice Notes in HighLevel Workslow/API
A
Anshuman Shrivastav
HighLevel currently supports receiving WhatsApp text messages and images through the Conversations API and Workflows, but WhatsApp voice notes (audio messages) are not passed through to either Workflows or the API.
This creates a major gap in real-world WhatsApp usage. In many markets (MENA, LATAM, South Asia, etc.), voice notes are one of the primary ways customers communicate—especially for service businesses, where users often explain issues, vehicle problems, or requests verbally instead of typing.
Right now, when a lead sends a voice note:
It appears (or is playable) inside WhatsApp
But HighLevel does not forward the audio file or its URL to Workflows or the API
This makes it impossible to:
Send the audio to automation tools (n8n, closebot, Zapier, webhooks, etc.)
Transcribe it with AI (Whisper, Deepgram, etc.)
Trigger workflows based on what the lead actually said

Voice notes are massive in our LATAM clients. Right now we have to manually check WhatsApp and transcribe important ones, which defeats the automation purpose. Are you finding workarounds or just handling manually?

This is important. Contracts are lost because of this
