Automatically assign task to logged in user

When a user is logged in and add a task to someone assigned to them, the task should automatically be assigned to them unless changed.

YES - can HL add this in. Also on the opportunities. If I'm logged in and creating an opportunity, make the owner the person who is creating it. Same with contacts.

Yes would be helpful to have the logged in user set as the assignee. This could be a toggle that allows users to select Yes/No to having this featured turned on - "Default - Assign New Tasks Created to Logged In User". I suspect many users want to save the extra click of having to select the Assignee from the dropdown and ensure someone is assigned the task.

Yes please! I've found over 50 tasks with unassigned contacts which means 50 people we failed to follow up with. Because the selection of the task owner sits right at the bottom of the task tile, when the team are busy they can easily miss this step. This seems like a no brainer.

At the very least, when creating a task have it default to the assigned user. Especially for users who only have the ability to see contact assigned to them.

Agree... the person creating the task is typically creating it for themselves... Saves having a bunch of unassigned tasks... and therefore not ownership or accountability for it
