✅ Dispatching (Job Scheduling / Service Routing / Resource Allocation)

Iver Aune
Develop a comprehensive Dispatching feature to help businesses efficiently manage schedules and adapt to changes seamlessly. Key functionalities could include:
➕ Efficient Scheduling: Create and optimize schedules to assign the right technician to the right job every time, considering location, skillset, and job priority.
➕ Real-Time Adjustments: Enable easy handling of unexpected scheduling changes or emergencies with drag-and-drop functionality and automated notifications.
➕ Resource Allocation: Visualize technician availability and workloads to ensure optimal resource utilization.
➕ Profitability Insights: Track performance metrics, such as on-time arrival rates and job completion efficiency, to identify opportunities to improve profitability.
➕ Integration: Sync with CRM, job costing (see my comment under the Project Management idea), and billing systems for a seamless workflow from scheduling to invoicing.
This feature would help us streamline operations, improve customer satisfaction, and drive profitability by ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and on time.

Map and routing

Generate the fastest, most fuel-efficient routes to fit more work into your day and optimize your business operations. And when an emergency plumbing job comes in, assign it to the closest technician based on their GPS waypoint just like leading plumbing companies do. Can we generate the route between the workplace (or use the preferred postcode of the logged-in staff member - from their profile) and the customer's address using the Google Maps Places API and then update the Location field. This is useful for home service businesses for checking customer location and managing travel routes.
Can this also be made available in the LC mobile app so clients simply hit the link and open the route in their favourite (Apple or Google) maps app.

ROUTE PLANNING AND GOOGLE/WAZE INTEGRATION WITH TRACKING

Route planning for service based businesses. Essentially allowing technicians to schedule their day going from job site to job site or house to house and plan their route for the day while also be able to be tracked by the owner to make sure they are actually at the job site. This can be used for any service based business. GPS Tracking, Job Photos, and Job Dispatch.

Map View of Jobs with Distance Calculation
F
Filip Rasinski
I'd love to see a feature within the CRM that visually displays scheduled jobs on an interactive map (like Google Maps), with pins for each job location. This would not only enhance the user experience aesthetically but also provide practical value.
Ideally, this map would:
- Show current and upcoming jobs as pins on the map.
- Calculate and display distances between jobs.
- Help with route optimisation and planning (especially for field teams).
- Integrate with the calendar view, so I can visually manage time and travel.
This would significantly improve job scheduling efficiency, time management, and reduce travel time between appointments, especially for service-based businesses that handle multiple visits per day.

I honestly thought that assigning rooms as a resource was already part of what could be done...until today. It is simply the most basic and logical way to assign a service to a room and then be able to limit the number of people in the room for booking logic. I just got told that the only way to potentially have this work is to create a new service calendar for each service.
This seems ridiculous because all of the service booking logic with add ons and variations as well as pre and post service delays is already great and much more complex than simply adding rooms as a resource and being able to limit the # of people in the room at a time.

Why do we not have this yet? I have clients who want to leave for Service Titan and/or HouseCall Pro because they now havmove to ServiceTitan and/or HouseCall Pro because they now offer many marketing and lead-generatione a lot of marketing and lead features. We should be able to offer this since so many people work with service-based companies. This is a game-changer and can be such a sticky feature to keep people on the platform.
