a system attached to class calendars that can track attendance and provide a digital in-class register - also need a way to interact with the register to then update shows and no-shows e.g. on the register if i mark someone as showed then it updates appointment status
calendar view doesn't always work for some clients so having this feature would be amazing especially for class based businesses

This might be related or similar to what the OP is thinking. But there isn’t a good way to view registered student information.
So yes a class register/list of all the students is helpful along with basic contact information, also the information they provided in any forms that were associated to the class calendar would be tremendously helpful.
Also include a way to export the table of information as a csv or excel file would be good too.
Currently, we can only see the form information of the first student who registered easily in the calendar event. If we want to see other students, we’d need to look at individual contact records, which can be very tedious if there are more than a handful of registered students.
I understand that the devs are probably trying to fit the current calendaring framework for meetings to make it work for classes, but I think there are additional administrative needs for both the class and event calendars that aren’t currently accounted for.
