We run a video production studio and use multiple pieces of shared equipment (e.g., 3 cameras and 5 microphones) across different services. Each service has its own calendar:
Podcast Calendar
Webinar Calendar
Life-Movie Calendar
Currently, we cannot assign the same equipment to multiple calendars. For example, if we create an equipment item called "Microphones" with a quantity of 5, we can only assign it to one calendar (e.g., Podcast) and not the others.
This limitation prevents us from managing shared equipment availability across services. Ideally, we want the system to:
Allow shared equipment with defined quantities (e.g., 5 microphones)
Deduct the reserved amount from the total available, regardless of which calendar/service books it
Prevent overbooking across all calendars when equipment is already reserved
Use Case Example:
If the Podcast service books 2 microphones, only 3 should be available for Webinar or Life-Movie at that time.
Impact:
This feature would enable service-based businesses like ours to more efficiently manage shared resources and avoid double bookings or operational conflicts.
