Using Live Chat only Widget - Why are SMS and Email options in the app?

Having clients have to remember to choose "Live Chat" when they reply via the app is really poor UX. It seems like if you set up a Live Chat only chat widget, the app should be intuitive enough to know that all replies should be in Live Chat. As it is now, when someone forgets and starts typing using SMS, the message isn't delivered and the whole process breaks down.
