Flexible Content Visibility for Memberships with Drip Control
B
Bjørnar Paasche
When members get instant access to a large program, many feel overwhelmed. Seeing the full structure upfront can reduce motivation and lower completion rates, especially in long or structured courses.
Proposed Solution
Add an option in Membership settings that allows creators to control content visibility independently of drip scheduling.
How it would work
• Course creators can choose between two visibility modes:
1. Full Program Visible Immediately
All sections and lessons are visible from day one, while drip controls when content becomes accessible.
2. Progressive Visibility (Drip-Based Reveal)
Sections and lessons only become visible when they are unlocked by the drip schedule.
Why this matters
• Reduces cognitive overload for new members
• Improves focus and motivation
• Encourages a clear sense of progress
• Increases completion rates and engagement
• Gives creators more pedagogical control over the learning experience
Use case
A creator may want:
• Drip enabled for pacing
• But also hide future modules until the learner is ready
So the member only sees “what’s next” instead of the entire program upfront.
Expected Outcome
• Better learner experience
• Higher retention and completion rates
• More effective use of drip-based programs
