Sending SMS messages is very expensive (especially for people outside of United States)
If you were to switch the encoding used from UCS-2 to GSM-7 that would drop the price of sending text messages by nearly 50%, which myself and my clients would love!

Shreyas Gupta Thank you! There are other services Like Signal House that connect into GHL but the rates are a lot less. It would be great if GHL could match them at least!

Wait, if Twilio already supports GSM-7 encoding in LC but it's just not exposed, that seems like a quick win to implement. Our international clients definitely feel the SMS cost pain.

wow - so they are intentionally not updating it, even though they have the resources and ability to - as the encoding is already offered! nuts

I should add - I spoke with Twilio support and they said they offer this encoding inside Leadconnector, it’s just not accessible currently

Keon Pavlides it's interesting that just the encoding can have such an impact on costs. did you find another way to reduce SMS costs?
