Decouple Phone System from Location Silos and GHL!

This will save gobs of time and prevent the loss of gobs of money, and open more opportunity for agencies to make more money through call answering services
Decouple the phone system entirely from GHL and allow for a single phone system to be tied to multiple agency accounts like a normal marketplace app. This would allows users to associate a single phone number across multiple locations, companies, and even multiple agencies. So a 10-location company wouldn't have to have 10 separate phone system accounts for 10 locations (unless they want to). Also, phone numbers could then be tied to users, not locations (then users if you want to).
Benefits:
- If a user works at 5 locations, they no longer need 5 numbers to be assigned to them
- if a number is tied to a user, then other users can no longer spoof themselves as other users by using other user's assigned numbers (yes, this is possible right now)
- Stop paying TCR fees for every location
- Accept calls from all logged-in locations (right now you can't - the lead connector app only rings the current open location -- I guestimate this has cost one of my clients tens of thousands of dollars in lost jobs before figuring this out - I'm guessing millions have been lost due to this design, now the client is just frustrated with an inflexible phone system)
- A company can now have one outbound number for all calls and texts (this way customers don't get calls from six different numbers from 6 different users, which frustrates customers, creates for a messy contact in their phone's contacts, and inturn frustrates the end users of GHL)
- Be able to transfer calls between locations, and even between companies, even agencies!
- allow agencies to offer central answering service, rather than dividing answering services between tabs in a browser, or some other workaround... this creates a nice revenue stream for agencies.
Centralization will allow for powerful efficiencies at multi-location companies when it comes to review solicitation, email marketing, calendaring and scheduling, call centers, webchat, google and FB ad services, reporting, reporting, and did I mention reporting? This is not just a benefit for phones, but every single feature in GHL will benefit. This will create hundreds of thousands of hours of time savings across all accounts.
Not a small thing. Cost allocation for accounting for example will be a challenge. but this is something that is crucial GHL starts working on. It is the right thing to do... and overcoming obstacles is par for the course.
