On multiple occasions, I've had issues with LC's unsubscribe tracking.
On one occasion, people unsubscribed and then complained that they were still getting emails.
It turned out that although they clicked the global unsubscribe link that's added to each email, they weren't marked as DND for the email channel, so they still got the emails.
Just yesterday, we sent an email to a client with 3,500 contacts. And reportedly, 14% of people unsubscribed. Given the great sender reputation and that this never happened before, and it was a very soft email, it seems that the tracking here was off as well.
Warm people, that just had purchased, supposedly unsubscribed which doesn't add up.
Upon checking the contacts that are reported as "unsubscribes", none of them were marked as DND for the email channel.
So most likely, these people never actually clicked the global unsubscribe link but were still tracked as unsubscribes.
And even if they did (unlikely to have 14% of people unsubscribe from an email), their DND wasn't set.
It appears that LC unsubscribe tracking doesn't seem to work very well yet. So please have a look into this so this can be fixed. Otherwise clients might end up panicking about their unsubscribe numbers, or they might get reports from people who said they unsubscribed but are still getting marketing emails.
