Please Escalate: Serious Concern About HighLevel’s Unsubscribe Feedback Flow

I strongly urge HighLevel to redesign the current unsubscribe feedback experience.
I fully support making unsubscribe immediate, simple, and frictionless. I also understand the value of optionally collecting feedback after someone unsubscribes.
My serious concern is with the specific choices HighLevel proactively presents to every subscriber after they unsubscribe, including:
“I never signed up for this mailing list.”
“The emails are inappropriate.”
“The emails are spam and should be reported.”
These are not neutral unsubscribe reasons. They introduce serious negative classifications to subscribers who may simply no longer want the emails, receive too many emails, have changed interests, or simply do not remember subscribing months or years ago.
Why would an email marketing platform proactively introduce the idea that an email is “spam and should be reported” during a routine unsubscribe experience?
If a recipient genuinely believes an email is spam, every major mailbox provider already provides a Report Spam function. HighLevel does not need to suggest that classification during an ordinary unsubscribe.
If HighLevel wants useful feedback, neutral options could include:
• I’m no longer interested in this topic
• I receive too many emails
• The content is no longer relevant to me
• I’m reducing my email subscriptions
• Other
More importantly, account owners should be able to customize or completely disable the post-unsubscribe questionnaire while retaining HighLevel’s native unsubscribe infrastructure.
I found the current experience concerning enough that I am replacing HighLevel’s visible unsubscribe experience with my own branded unsubscribe flow rather than exposing my subscribers to this questionnaire.
I would also like HighLevel to clarify publicly:
Does selecting “The emails are spam and should be reported,” “I never signed up,” or any of the other negative options affect the sender’s complaint metrics, LC Email reputation, domain reputation, deliverability, account standing, internal risk scoring, or any other reputation or enforcement metric within HighLevel?
This is a sender-experience, subscriber-experience, deliverability, and brand-trust issue. Please have the Email, Deliverability, and Product teams review the current design.
