Email received in Outlook has corrupt From address

We are sending email from GHL to our customers. Our outgoing email is richard@mycompany.com
When receiving email in Outlook, the From address should be richard@mycompany.com
Instead, it is: richard=mycompany.com@mycompany.com; on behalf of; richard@mycompany.com
We tried adding a custom domain to see if the problem would be resolved but no change. This just makes it:
richard=mycompany.com@email.mycompany.com; on behalf of; richard@mycompany.com
Note that Gmail and Yahoo show from as: Richard LastName and when the user digs into the address, they see richard@mycompany.com.
We contacted GHL support and they said: "At this time we are aware that the From address that is listed on the emails is not what is displayed in outlook email inboxes. We do not currently have a way to adjust this since Outlooks is the one that is changing the format"

Regarding "This is the behavior of Outlook when the sending domain and the From address domain are different, so please use the same domain."
I'm pretty sure mine has the right sending domain and the from address is the same.
However if the sending domain is a subdomain, is that likely to create this issue we are facing; since th From Address is definitely not name@subdomain.com?

We have been trying to solve this issue, it has not been resolved yet! theres another ideas post under OUTLOOK Fix. Same issue, i've been dealing with this for months. GHL blame Outlook and Outlook blame GHL but end of the day many of us deal with this issue and GHL should escalate this so we can continue business...

This is the behavior of Outlook when the sending domain and the From address domain are different, so please use the same domain.

This also causes recipients issues when searching in Outlook for the message from Richard LastName or richard@mycompany.com
