When doing invoices there should be an option to add a subscription item. I am selling websites on a subscription based model that also has a one time set up fee. However, currently the invoice only allows me to add one time payment items.

Setup fees + trials are NOT included in Recurring Invoices, and pose a huge issue

If you create a recurring invoice from a template, any setup fees or trial charges you’ve added won’t be included. There’s no warning or notice they just get left out.
Spent 3.5+ hours with GHL support trying to figure this out. Their final answer? “That feature doesn’t exist.” Even when I pointed to an Ideas post that was marked “completed” over a year ago, they said the functionality still isn’t there.
The real problem is: setup fees do work with recurring invoices just not when you use a template. So if you’re using recurring invoices through workflows, and relying on templates, they’re not charging the full amount.
This basically means workflows for recurring invoices are unreliable unless you do everything manually, which defeats the purpose of automation.
Here’s the original thread with the marked as completed, even though its not:

Completely agree. This needs to be implemented.

YES! I have to create a "one time" item for our subscriptions for the invoice ...and then ADD a subscription to the client after...very frustrating having to do an unnecessary step. this IMO is a very basic thing! In the system I currently use all i do is set up the recurring membership, add any additional products needed and then click a button and charge the first month (with extra items if needed) set up how and what date they will pay going forward..easy stuff
