Would be so helpful to have line item discounts (like products with negative dollar amounts) that reduce the totals. Have it after the subtotal in the same area as discounts, but just a detailed option. The example fresh in my mind is for a school to apply numerous discounts for prepayment, multiple children, financial aid, grants, etc...
