Invoices should be able to start as Estimates, then move to Sales Order and then become and Invoice.

This is the common model for most B2B work, especially when working with larger companies.

Manual Approval/Denial/Converting of Estimates Without Needing to Send it to The Contact

Currently, the only way to get access to the "Mark As Accepted", or "Convert To Invoice" on estimates is to "Send" the estimate to the contact via email/SMS.
For a lot of businesses that are out in the field, its absolutely CRUCIAL for them to be able to manually approve, deny, and convert estimates to invoices without the need to send the estimate to the customer. Specifically when they might be on site with the customer at the time.
Giving the user the ability to move/change the statuses of these estimates without being behind what I like to call the "Send Wall" is a huge enhancement I think many users need 100%.

Yes, having a Mark as sent.. or manually approve (with a log) is a function we use in othere systems for estimate purpose.

Something that would be nice
I have a b2b order page setup on the store but the orders can't be converted to an invoice... which is really not ideal for b2b workflows
I don't do estimates unless you have a way to add estimates from the orders we get on the store...

You can already do this. When editing the estimate, click on the three dot's at the top right and click on "Mark as Accepted"

Gary Pratten Sadly as I mentioned, you can only do that once it has been "Sent". That option is not there when the estimate is in "draft" mode.

Filip . So as a work around, can you not just send the estimate to yourself? Then edit it after you have marked as accepted?

Gary Pratten Yea that is an option! It is actually what myself and others have been doing but it is a bit of a pain when it comes to doing it on mobile, etc. Just a feature request that would make the entire process "hiccup free" as its a general feature for almost all other invoicing/estimate systems. I appreciate your reply!

Please vote on this if you also see the benefit. Estimates should not be locked down like this in any software. Thanks!

Yes, invoices start the clock on sales tax. Estimates do not - definitely need to start with estimates
