Invoice sending automated but due date unable to be set.

We automated the invoice to be sent on the date of the appointment being booked (cleaning service) and would like the ability to automate the due date for the invoice.
Currently we have changed the setting to 0 days due date as we are COD for residential cleaning but we need to be able to set either 7 or 14 days for commercial cleaning works. This would apply to a number of niches and creates a fully self service booking system where customers can pick their date and know that everything will happen as it should.
We have a workaround with a wait setting but it does not work as well as it should because we are "issuing" the invoice 7 days post service which then creates it's own set of issues.
