I have got a deposit from my customer all read, when I send the the invoice for the balance I need the total but like to give them credit for the Deposit under the discount I would like to pick Deposit paid as a option instead of discount. please add this as a option to change the wording on the Invoice PLEASE.

My preference would be for negative value lines to be enabled. That's how I do this in Xero.
Add a line for each service/product.
Then, simply add a line for "Deposit paid" (or any discount etc) which has a negative value.
This would be much more flexible for use, and clearer for the recipient, than the current single discount section.

Agreed as using the discount for a deposit changes the tax amount which means our record keeping is off
