I have noticed a major issue with how the NMI subscription “Share Payment Update Link” works when used through GHL:
When a customer uses the link and adds a new card, the card is saved to their customer profile, but it does not update the active subscription tied to the failed card.
This forces us to manually re-assign the card or rebuild the subscription, which defeats the purpose of having a “payment update” flow.
Customers believe they’ve fixed their billing problem, but their subscription continues to fail...creating confusion, churn risk, and unnecessary admin work.
Expected Behavior:
When a customer updates their payment method via the shared link, the new card SHOULD automatically attach to their active subscription and future billing cycles should run successfully without manual intervention.
Request:
Please update the NMI + GHL subscription integration so that the “share payment update link” truly updates the subscription’s active payment method.
This would align the feature with user expectations and reduce failed payments, customer frustration, and manual rework.
Thanks for reviewing...this improvement would make subscription management much smoother for both businesses and customers.
