Please add native contact-level site tracking for external websites, similar to ActiveCampaign’s Site Tracking.
When an existing contact clicks a link in an email sent through GoHighLevel, that click should securely identify their browser on the destination website. Subsequent page visits should then be linked to their contact record without requiring a form submission.
This should work on external websites such as WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and custom-built sites using GoHighLevel’s External Tracking script.
Requested functionality:
  • Identify the contact following a tracked email click, using a secure first-party cookie or equivalent method.
  • Automatically record subsequent page visits in the contact’s native Activity feed, including the page URL and visit date/time.
  • Allow workflows and segmentation based on those visits, including repeat visits and visits to specific pages.
  • Make contact-linked page-view events available through the API and webhooks.
  • Respect tracking consent and browser privacy settings.
External Tracking currently provides website analytics and form-based contact identification, but it does not natively connect an email click to an individual contact’s subsequent browsing history on an external website.
This feature would help sales teams understand each contact’s interests, recognise buying intent and follow up based on the pages they actually visited.
