It would be really useful to have the option for emails created using the Design/Template editor to include a plain-text alternative automatically alongside the HTML version.
At the moment, there is a Plain Text Editor, but that creates a separate plain-text email.
What’s missing is the ability for a single email to contain both:
  • the normal HTML/designed version
  • a text/plain alternative containing the same core content
The recipient’s email client or assistive technology could then choose the most appropriate version to display.
This would be especially helpful for:
  • accessibility and screen-reader compatibility
  • recipients whose email clients do not render HTML emails well
  • users who prefer plain-text email
  • improving resilience when HTML rendering fails
Ideally, the plain-text version could either be generated automatically from the HTML email, or there could be an optional field where the sender can edit/customise the plain-text alternative before sending.
This is different from simply having a separate Plain Text Editor. The request is for multipart emails with both HTML and plain-text versions within the same send.
