We need ALL standard e-commerce events as workflow triggers.
We need to send CRM Conversion Events (the only 100% reliable way) to Google Ads and Facebook Manager with the Facebook and Google Workflow Actions. To do that, we need all events as triggers.
We need:
➕ Add to cart
➕ Begin Checkout
➕ Sale (Where we choose Product, not page)

closing this idea as the contact creation happens when a user adds their details in checkout and the requirements here highlight all the steps prior to capturing customer details

This is sorta true. For a brand new person making a purchase it is true.
But there is also the possibility that the customer info has already been entered in Shopify BEFORE the purchase. If the customer is logged in to an already existing account, Shopify tracks that. So, if they've made a prior purchase or signed up to the email list or any other number of reasons the customer info may be present PRIOR to checkout.

I realized that this doesn't make sense. These workflow triggers need contact info to be added to a workflow. We are still looking for a way to send data back to Google Ads or Tag Manager for these events: view_item|view_item_list|select_item|add_to_cart|remove_from_cart|view_cart|begin_checkout|add_payment_info|add_shipping_info|purchase
We would like to have access to the Data Layer for the Purchase Event so we can track conversion value dynamically in the Google Ads Account.
