Add other categories to products. Right now we can only add selectable variants, however it would be great if we can add a calendar option (for date of when client wants the order) or other text options, where the client can type it special requests, etc. Trying to create an e-commerce store where my client sells food and she would like it if her clients can select the day for the food order or add comments about the order and this isnt really an option right now.

Include the ability to search and filter products by category, with breadcrumbs at the top of page so a user can go back/up one level. Also include the ability to have Featured Categories on the Homepage.

it is must have. Most of the customers have more than 20 items. A product category and a product search is must.
My kind request to prioritise the same.

It is now up to 130 votes. Here's the thing, the "number" of votes isn't commensurate with the priorities of core elements of an ecommerce site. Categories, Tax, Shipping, etc. are all basic and core elements to a shop. Even if there's only 100 votes for these items, they are necessary for a shop. For me, it's an all or nothing deal: if these things aren't available, it's a no go until they are. So I think it's important to pay attention to these requests, despite the lower numbers of votes. Once in place, then we in the community can shout its praises and others will jump on board.

Much Needed, kinda silly not having product categories

This would be awesome if we could get the category option available.
I have multiple people that sell products that thought this was a great feature to have the store front but they all want category. That would basically make a fully functioning, simple but fully functioning store. at the moment they just have to put things on there and hope people go past the first page. It works awesome for people who sell a basic service and only has like three options but a lot of people who use these digital store fronts have multiple sets of things.
This is major selling point for HL to be able to adapt and replace sites like shopify all together. Looking forward to what it will become.

Do we have an update on this? I ran into the same problem. It's cool that you can add your products to your store, but without categories for products or even a search tool to navigate, we can't expect people to just scroll from page to page until they find what they're looking for. I hope this rolls out soon.

Agreed - the omission of a categories feature hugely lets down the HL shop facility when compared to the competition. This needs to be accelerated up the development chain and sorted out ASAP.

YES! Need to create multiple categories for products... Creating different courses all within one subject.
