Problem Statement:
Currently, only track opens and clicks for emails sent directly from the platform. While 2-way sync allows us to see Outlook replies, it does not track engagement (opens/clicks) for individual sales emails composed and sent directly from the Microsoft Outlook desktop application. This creates a "blind spot" for sales teams who prefer working out of their primary inbox but still need GHL to log engagement data for lead scoring and follow-up triggers.
Proposed Solution:
Develop a native Outlook Add-in (similar to HubSpot or Mailtrack) that allows users to:
-Track Opens/Clicks: Automatically insert a tracking pixel and link-wrapper for emails sent directly from Outlook.
-Sync Engagement Data: Instantly push "Email Opened" or "Link Clicked" events back into the GHL Contact Timeline.
-Log History: Automatically log the sent email body into the GHL "Conversations" tab without requiring manual BCC or forwarding.
Business Impact:
-Increased Sales Efficiency: Sales reps can stay in their preferred environment (Outlook) while still leveraging GHL’s powerful automation.
-Better Data Accuracy: Provides a 360-degree view of lead engagement that is currently missing for manual Outlook outreach.
-Stop losing clients to Hubspot because they have this- specifically because of this missing "inbox-native" tracking.
