'Jobs' as a New Category for Service-based businesses

I want to make my WL software truly All-in-One by providing job creation and management in addition to marketing a local service-based business.
There are these item categories in GHL currently - contact, (cal) event, task, etc and I'd like to request a new category - JOB - so if a client is a service-based business for example, they can easily use the job to:
- Create jobs from Proposals & Estimates (standalone or recurring)
- Map Contacts
- Manage staff members & their work schedules - (Revamp 'My Staff' page)
- Assign tasks and/or checklists for that job type
- Create new or map existing quotes/estimates/proposals
- Take payments (both one-time & recurring)
- Schedule, view, and manage jobs & bookings
- Updating jobs and tracking progress for everyone - business owner, staff & customer
- Add quality audit or compliance specification for each job and record evidence
- Take pictures or record videos using the mobile app (for sharing with customers or recording evidence).
- Assign items to every job and manage their inventory (optional but useful)
- Track key business metrics - view the number and value of completed and pending jobs by week, month or year.
- Providing an end customer portal for viewing and managing bookings will be just ideal. Here's that request.
Most tech providers for service businesses have a job feature that's quite useful to clients. (Jobber, HouseCallPro, JobNimbus, HubScape, Launch27, ConnecTeam, MaidCentral, CleanSure, etc.)

Sales & Marketing - Note: Would like to use Opportunities as 'Jobs' if we can rename them and make use of the opportunity custom fields and workflows.
Or the upcoming custom objects feature if that's better suited.

I 100% agree! I've spent two weeks trying to see if it would work for catering businesses and the fact that they don't have this feature makes it a no go for me and the few hundred caterers I represent.

Add Jobs to contact or scheduling. Many businesses work with the same client under different jobs. Having the ability to schedule a job and assign invoices to that specific job as well as payments for those jobs would really take what you call a CRM to the next level.
