"Unread" messages not marking as read when opened

Messages on the "Unread" tab don't mark themselves as read when they are opened. They are only marked as read when you reply to the lead, or when you manually mark it as read.
Instead, the chat should be automatically marked as read as soon as you view it, which saves time and is a feature in every other messaging app.

Same issue here. We have to train our team to manually mark everything as read or the notification counts get completely out of sync. A toggle setting would solve this for everyone.

Currently, we have to manually mark each conversation as read; this doesn't have to be the case. Just like Gmail, you can set it up so that when you open a conversation (email in Gmail), it automatically marks it as read. This would increase productivity and efficiency. Thanks!

Specifically when using the app, my phone shows the app had several unread notifications, but every single conversation is marked as read. I've tried multiple ways to mark the conversation as read, but the app still shows notifications.

I understand the logic of not marking messages as read, after they have been... read, infuriatingly illogical though it is, but at least give us a choice in the matter, a toggle or whatever. In my use case, messages should be marked as read when they are read.

Some of use prefer to manually mark messages as "read" but maybe instead have a Setting that allows users to automatically mark messages as read when clicked on.
