Feature Request - Add User ID Variable to Workflow Triggers
C
Cristiano Graf
Hello HighLevel Team,
I would like to request an important feature enhancement for workflow automation.
CURRENT LIMITATION:
When using the "Contact Replied" trigger (or similar message-based triggers), there is no way to identify WHO sent the message - whether it was:
- The contact/customer (inbound)
- A team member/staff (outbound manual)
- The system/bot (automation)
REQUESTED FEATURE:
Please add the following variables to message-based workflow triggers:
- {{user.id}} - ID of the staff member who sent the message
- {{user.name}} - Name of the staff member
- {{message.source}} or {{message.type}} - To identify if message is from: contact, staff, or automation
USE CASE:
This would enable us to:
- Prevent AI bots from interfering when human staff is actively chatting with a customer
- Automatically tag conversations when staff takes over
- Create smarter workflows that behave differently based on who sent the message
- Better track which team members are engaging with customers
BUSINESS IMPACT:
Many agencies using HighLevel AI features face the same challenge - bots interfering with human conversations. This feature would solve a major pain point and make AI automation much more practical.
Thank you for considering this enhancement!
