Contact followers do not have access to contact conversation in the conversation screen

Improve Conversation Visibility for Followers / Teams . Currently, only the contact owner (or assigned Team) can see a contact’s conversations directly in the Conversations screen when permissions are set to "Assigned Data Only." Followers added to a contact can only access conversations by opening the contact record, which makes collaboration harder

This is an important missing feature for how our agency is using the system. For locations with multiple managers, sales managers are missing their conversations AND notifications even if they're a follower on the contact.
