It would be incredibly useful if HighLevel added the ability to detach and reassign conversation threads and notifications to specific contact records, similar to functionality found in HubSpot’s conversation inbox.
Example Use Cases:
Partner Communication Redirected to Client Record:
If a partner or third party (e.g., a referral partner, affiliate, or platform like BBB) sends an inquiry or lead information, that conversation currently remains tied to their contact record. Ideally, we should be able to detach that conversation and assign it to the actual client or lead record it pertains to. This would help us maintain clean, relevant communication histories tied to the right contact.
Note: This is an entirely separate use case from those that would be resolved by merging contacts who reached out from alternative emails or phone numbers.
Lead Capture & Source Attribution:
When a lead comes in via a third-party contact (like a BBB alert or email forward), we want to unassign that from the originating source (BBB) and reassign it to the newly created lead record, keeping the communication trail accurate and centered on the client.
GHL Review Notifications:
Currently, review notifications (like when a Google or Facebook review is received) appear in the conversations area but are not assigned to any contact record. It would be useful to have the ability to manually assign or link that notification to the contact who left the review, making it easier to reference later in follow-ups or reporting.
