Provide Calendar Time Zone in Booking Bot - Critical
A
Andrew Bradley
The booking bot does not provide the time zone before the appointment is booked causing many mis-bookings and rescheduled appointments for businesses with clients across multiple time zones. This should be a very simple and fast fix.
Example: simply state when providing time slots "All times are [calendar timezone]"

Andrew Bradley all the slots are provided in contact timezone . If the contact timezone is not there , then we provide slots in business timezone .
You can go to any contact and see the timezone update for that contact and bot always provide slots as per contact time zone
You can add a line in prompt ." always mention time zone in the slots " and that should work , but timezone conversion wont be possible .

Abhishek Kumar I understand the theory but in practice this doesn't work (at least I can't get it to).
A new chat on the bot starts, the system doesn't know the user's time zone automatically. User books an appointment but in the Company time zone, but the user isn't made aware of the time zone.
Even when I prompt to include the time zone
Always state before booking: “All booking times are shown in {{ custom_values.calendar_time_zone }}.”
it doesn't consistently do it. One of my clients works across the USA and this is critical to function correctly.

Abhishek Kumar Thanks for that. That helps, but it's not a complete solution.
It would still be better if we could get the bot to mention the booking timezone EVERY SINGLE TIME when mentioning times.
I undertand to prompt it to do so, but in practice the bot is VERY inconsistent with non-negotiuable instructions like this and will often hallucinate and "forget" them.
It's a simple matter of specifically outputting the users timezone (or calendar timezone if user timezone is undetectable) when outputting the available times.
It takes any confusion out of play, making it more bulletproof.
Should be a very simple addition...
Is that possible?
A
Abhishek Kumar
Ben Vickers you can put that in prompt in below format
### strictly mention the timezone of the appointment booking slots provided to the user.
Let me know if this works
And we are also planning to release a feature soon to highlight the timezone
But the only issue is conversion of timezone is very inconsistent with AI .
A
Abhishek Kumar
Ben Vickers possible but only issue is if the user asks to convert the timezone the ai will hallucinate. As it is not good in timezone conversion.
We are discussing few solutions for now the prompt mentioned by me is best solution
B
Ben Vickers
Abhishek Kumar Thanks, I'll try that.
Is it essential to have the 3 hashes , ###, for non negotiable instructions?
I currently have an open ticket where I'm unable to get it to obey non-negotiable instructions.
A
Abhishek Kumar
Ben Vickers please send the ticket number
And yes ### is a markdown support to highlight instructions so that AI understands

Abhishek Kumar Ticket 3715582 - refer to my latest message on it for a sumary and loom vid.
I'll try the '###'... Thanks! If there's anything else you can advise after looking at the ticket, please let me know.
A
Abhishek Kumar
Ben Vickers I will look into your ticket . Meanwhile let me know if this method works
B
Ben Vickers
Abhishek Kumar The ### Markup hasnt worked with my ticket issue. Same problem.
