With one of my clients we recently learned thst if they unsubscribed for a promo email we sent, it stopped sending them the emails associated with the course the purchased. Some have also said they weren't able to get lost password emails either. So when someone unsubscribes, there needs to be options and this way if we send a newsletter, or a marketing email blast, maybe there's a categorization we can include on type of communication it is. This could also be done in the templates we create for automations and/or in the email automation step.
