Sort contacts by lastname

We can sort contacts (by first name) from A-Z or Z-A, but not by last name? The ability to sort by last name is really handy. Easily shows duplicate contacts, etc. If Pulling just the last name as a column that would work too.

We need to be able to sort our contacts by last name. So we a column added for last name. We are a B2C company, not a B2B. So just like the new Company column sort, we need a last name sort for our B2C contacts.

One work around I found. Until they implement this very simple request is to create a custom column "Sort LastName" add the custom column to your smart list and save it. Build a workflow that triggers on contact creation to add the last name to that custom column. It seems to work well for me at the moment.
