It would be handy to be able to lock custom contact fields that are automated by workflows. I've got about three custom fields that I actually want users to touch (whether someone is verified for entry to a club, who verified them and whether they're currently checked in. Everything else is automated and I want users to be able to see the info but not edit it.

100% agree with this. Fields should be view only with an edit button for when they need to be changed. It's really strange that they are automatically editable when viewing.

Agreed. Need to be able to set which fields are locked / cannot be edited manually.
