Hide Custom Fields Folders from Contact Screen

We have the ability to hide custom fields that are empty, but it would be even better if we could hide specific custom field folders from the contact screen.
For example, it would really helpful for archiving purposes if you have information you don't use anymore but want to hang on to. That way you don't have to click a button to hide blank fields, it could just be done automatically in an archive folder that's absent from the contact.
It could also really help out those who use custom fields for back-end automation for their clients and don't want their clients to mess with a folder containing the custom values.
Also, it would be really helpful if you have custom fields on forms as part of a template account that you don't want your client to have access to yet. That way to client doesn't see that in the contact profile.

Yes, we have custom fields we no longer use but we don't want to delete them. It would be great to either deactivate them or hide them.

Yes, many of my custom fields are auto-populated and used solely for populating email templates. Example, object pronoun, uppercase object pronoun, subject pronoun, uppercase subject pronoun.
These fields just need to operate in the background and currently clutter up the contact view. I have 500+ custom fields per contact and scrolling through a lot of irrelevant (to the client) fields hurts the user experience.
