Customize Contact page layout

Both our marketing and sales users very much dislike the current Contact page layout. The conversation section takes up so much space and all the info (fields) is crammed into a small column. We can't even collapse sections. There's a lot of other smaller layout things we'd like to control as well. (Love the way SFDC allows complete control over object page layouts.)

Contact page customization extended to custom objects would go a long way to solving this problem. I just posted https://ideas.gohighlevel.com/custom-objects/p/custom-objects-need-view-customization-too requesting that GHL extend its existing panel/reorderable modules/show/hide fields/assignable views to custom objects. This has been available for contacts since April 2026, supposedly with zero beta complaints, so I can not, for the life of me, figure out why that hasn't yet been repeated for custom objects. SO PAINFUL, so limiting to scroll one continuous column while having a conversation with a prospect, existing customer, or partner. It makes zero sense to me.
Please take a look and upvote, comment on the post. I hope that will spawn investment from GHL. The current view structure drives nonsensical friction.

Chanel Haugh Custom objects is just another Contact Record that needs same functionality, just a different name. I wanted to create Guest Session Record with 140 custom fields and we pulled back for now.

Vasili Kastashchuk - agree which is exactly why I created my post. Extending an existing view from a standard object to a custom object should be an easy yes. I also created an enhancement request for a manual bold/italic/field background for custom fields to visually differentiate critical from optional fields.
I have completely stalled my build until they figure this out. As is, GHL is not feasible to use on live calls/mtgs with 500 fields across 9 custom objects. Miserable friction.

I’ve seen and tested the feature described here:
However, after running some tests, I noticed that:
- If you export the contact list, you can also see the folders containing “sensitive” data
- Even when setting a contact view with visibility restrictions on certain custom or standard fields (this works in the single contact view), in the contact list view it is still possible to enable the display of columns containing “sensitive data”
Is it possible to speak directly with the team that developed this feature to see if the “manage features” button can be removed?

We have well over 300 custom fields. It's VERY PAINFUL to work in the current contract record view. It's great for quick snapshot but when we are doing client intake and need to check off over 200 over a course of lead to registration to post registration, it's VERY CHALLENGING.
Ontraport has the best Contact record, where we can organize by section, setup columns, and view all needed info during the client call/meeting.
I'd love to help your development team and if needed, can create with my team desired wireframe concept.
NOTE: we did not move the entire business in GHL, yet, because Contact record is #1 obstacle. We were looking into work arounds or how to build a separate system that will act as a Contact Record and use Make.com integration or Zappier...all are quite a headache, you have to wait etc.
Would love to help you help us.

Vasili Kastashchuk - I just posted a request at https://ideas.gohighlevel.com/custom-objects/p/custom-objects-need-view-customization-too. I have mapped well over 500 fields across 9 custom objects. Your description of PAINFUL is an understatement. I can't move my entire business until GHL addresses this and they have had the capability since April 2026 when contact page view customizations were rolled out. You can see the request here. I upvoted Justin's need. Please consider upvoting mine as well. Hopefully both will move the needle.

YES PLEASE - ALLOW me to widen the contacts detail column. My client wants to see the details in one glance, not endless scrolling.

I'd love to be able to search contacts by address or city. And keep it as a default columns for all users.

Half of the contact page features I don't/will not use. If I could remove 50% of the on-screen clutter, QOL will skyrocket!

Yes the contact conversation section takes up a lot of real estate. We would love to be able to adjust the space that it takes by adjusting any or all of the panels. My customer mostly uses notes, but there is value in resizing any of the panels.

agreed. the conversation section in the middle of the page takes up too much space. would much rather have the notes/tasks in main, center column.

Listen to your users. We need to have the ability to edit and customize these views!

Agreed. I just want notes to show first by default. Not the activities tab.
