Automatically Generating Unique Customer Codes in Workflows

Dear GoHighLevel Support,
I would like to automatically generate a unique customer code for every new contact in my CRM. To achieve this, I created a Custom Field named "Customer Code" and set up a workflow that should populate this field with a unique value, such as:
CUST-{{contact.id}}
AVD-{{random.1000-9999}}
KL-{{timestamp}}
However, when the workflow runs, the field remains empty or only displays "-". It seems that dynamic fields are not being populated in custom fields.
My questions:
Does GoHighLevel support the use of dynamic fields (such as {{contact.id}} or {{random.1000-9999}}) in custom fields within workflows?
If not, what is the best way to automatically generate a unique customer code when a new contact is created?
Can this customer code also be applied retroactively to all existing contacts in my CRM? If so, what is the best way to implement this?
