Allow Created On Date to be Changed

When importing contacts from another CRM, it would be helpful to be able to change the created on date of the contact, rather than just creating a custom field for the old CRM created on date.
There could be a proxy "created on date" that functions as the main date displayed.

Cort Kinker Yes, I had created a custom field for the date. When I import a contact list from a client's previous CRM, I use that to keep track of the original date. When creating a smart list, if I want to search by date, I would need all contacts to have that field (new and imported). I could do that but it just feels redundant to have the created date in two places on those new contacts.
When viewing the contacts tab you can sort by the date, but it only references the system date. I know I can use advanced filtering to isolate what I'm looking for by using that custom date field.
Maybe it would be helpful if we could use our own custom fields as columns or edit the columns on the contact page, as in choosing what we want to sort by (not using advanced filtering, see screenshot)

Nick Foose agree. i dont think its meant as a look-at-it crm, just a data repository. thats my sense anyway or we'd be able to do this easily.
perhap you could build an automation that will copy the creation date to the custom one whenever a new contact is created or upon you manually rinning it on the whole database and stop using the standard created on field

"created date" has a specific definition and in every system I have used is only for "created in this system".
i am not sure the use case, but can't you create a custom field to use for the "original created date" and use an automation or calculation to populate that field for new creations (or could even do it manually now and again).
