Please add 'Website URL' as a custom field type for contacts and companies. Use case: being able to click on links from a contact or company record to external links (social media pages, 3rd party systems, Google Drive / Dropbox links etc)

I have various clients receiving key sales info (credit report) to their contact's custom fields after finishing an application.
This information is critical to continue the sales process with each individual contact. 
A clickable hyperlink as a custom field would be amazing for them to access this key information of each lead.

I can imagine it being implemented something like this (see attached image). The link opens in a new window. If you update the existing URL in the field and save the record, the link to the right is updated once saved.

James Collier: This would be even better if it were the other way around: a clickable URL by default and the icon on the right is the edit button.

Gareth Everson: Either way works for me. As long as we can click to get there without having to copy and paste.
