The Go Live documentation for Communities uses the term “hosts” in the plural and even suggests that it is possible to assign host/speaking permissions during a live session.
However, in practice, I cannot find any way to:
• assign another participant as a true Host / Co-host
• define additional Hosts before the session starts
• promote someone to Host during the session
At the moment, I only seem to find attendee-level permissions such as microphone, camera, and screen sharing permissions — but not a real Host role transfer or multi-host setup.
This creates confusion because the documentation implies that multiple Hosts may be supported, while the UI does not appear to offer that functionality.
Feature request / clarification needed:
1. If multi-host / co-host functionality already exists, please document exactly how to use it
2. If it does not exist yet, please add the ability to:
• assign multiple Hosts before a session
• promote attendees to Host during a session
• automatically grant Host privileges to Community Admins when they join the session
• let multiple Hosts manage the room with the same moderator controls
This would be very useful for:
• trainings with an assistant/moderator
• webinars with multiple speakers
• community events where one person presents and another manages participants/chat/technical issues
Why this matters
Right now, Go Live seems limited to a single real host with actual host priviledges, which makes actual moderation impossible (said host is busy presenting) and does not match what the documentation seems to suggest.
